About our school

The school was established in 1923 and it is managed by the Private Aided Management. It is located in rural area. It is situated at a distance of about 8 km. from the Block HQ. It is located in EDAPPAL block of MALAPPURAM district of KERALA. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 4. The school is co-educational and it has an attached pre-primary section. It has got one teacher for pre-primary section. The school is non-residential in nature and is not using school building as a shift-school. During the previous academic year, the school functioned for 193 days. It had 1 academic inspection and was not visited by the CRC Coordinator during the previous academic year. It was 1 time visited by the BRC Coordinator. Malayalam is the medium of instructions in this school.

Facilities in School

The school has 2 building blocks which are housed in a Private building. It has got 8 classrooms for instructional purposes. All the classrooms are in good condition. It has got another room for non-teaching activities. The school has a separate room for Head master/Teacher.

The school has got boundary wall. The school has electricity connection. The source of Drinking Water in the school is Well. The school has a common toilet and also has separate toilet for boys and girls The school has a playground. The school has a book-bank and has 512 books in its library. The school did not arrange medical check-up for its students during the previous academic year. It has got ramp for the disabled children. The school has got 10 blackboards for the use of teachers and 4 blackboards at the ground level for the use of children. The school does not have a computer. The school is not having a computer aided learning lab. The school hasn't received the one time Kitchen Devices Grant. The school is providing Mid-day meal & it is prepared in the school premises.

Teachers

Mr./Ms. VIJAYAKUMARI.P.K is the Head Master/Teacher of school and his/her academic qualification is Higher Secondary. The school has 9 regular teachers in position against a sanctioned strength of 9 posts. The school has 8 female teachers. It has no Para-Teacher. The school does not have non-teaching staff. Precisely, 4 teachers of school are having graduate and above degrees. On the other hand, all teachers have professional certification(s)/degree(s). The Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR) of the school is 9:1 and the Student-Classroom Ratio (SCR), 10:1. On an average, about 10 students sit in one classroom which sounds comfortable.

During the previous academic year, 3 teachers of school were engaged for 3 days in non-teaching assignments at an average of 1 days. The average is worked out on the basis of teachers involved in non-teaching assignments.

Funds and Grants

Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Programme, the school received a sum of Rs.5000/- and Rs.4500/- on account of School Development and TLM Grants respectively. It has utilized 100 per cent School Development and TLM Grants. The school did not collect any funds from students during the previous academic year.

Enrolment

The total enrolment of school is 80, out of which boys' enrolment is 39 (48.8 per cent) and girls' enrolment, 41 (51.3 per cent). The SC enrolment is 61 (76.3 per cent), ST enrolment, zero and OBC enrolment, 17 (21.3 per cent). A total of 5 (12.8 per cent) boys and 5 (12.2 per cent) girls repeated primary grades during the previous academic year. The school has 4 disabled children.

Incentives to Students

Incentives were not provided to students in the previous academic session.

School Examinations

Of the total students appeared in Grade IV examination, 100 per cent passed the examination. All the Students passed the examination with 60 per cent and above marks.
